Roland calls it the “UA-33 TriCapture”, but I think I’ll stick with UA-33 since “TriCapture” sounds a bit silly to me. It does do an accurate job of describing the features – the UA-33 is a USB audio interface optimized for personal and mobile recording, vocal and guitar recording, and streaming-internet applications. It has mixer-like design and dedicated front-panel controls which makes it easy to mix, control, and monitor a variety of signals.
Aside from the XLR input, the ¼” input with a Hi-Z switch, you can also use the unique LOOP BACK function to record any audio on your computer - video conferences, YouTube videos, etc.
As can be expected from Roland, which owns Cakewalk, Sonar X1 LE is included so if you have Windows, you can start recording right away. Of course the UA-33 is just as useful for Mac users, but you will need to use GarageBand or another program for your Mac.
