iPads for musicians - viewing sheet music

Everywhere I turned at the NAMM show last week, someone was demonstrating music hardware or an app for the iPad.  It seems that the iPad has become an essential tool for musicians and the music industry is catching on by releasing innovative music tools for the iPad.

Viewing sheet music on the iPad seems to be more and more popular these days, and there are some great tools for this.  For example, we just started carrying the PageFlip Cicada which is a two pedal bluetooth page turner that will work with any bluetooth compatible hardware - including the iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone or your laptop or desktop computer.

The PageFlip is unique in that you can choose which command it sends to the software, allowing it to work with virtually any music viewing app available.  (You can choose Page Up/Down, Left/Right arrow, Up/Down arrow, Left/Right mouse click, and Space/Enter.)  It even comes with a USB bluetooth dongle in case you want to use it on a laptop that doesn't have bluetooth.

When you combine this pedal with the iKlip and the appropriate app, your iPad becomes a virtual music stand!  Don't have the music you need?  Check out our CD Sheet Music collection which provides thousands of pages of classical music in PDF format that can be easily viewed on your iPad or laptop.

We will also have the Airturn Bluetooth page turner system in the coming weeks...
